Finding good food does take more time and energy – but it is definitely worth the effort.
It is a wonderful way for you to support sustainable and traditional farmers, artisanal food makers and local shopkeepers, which helps to build a strong local economy and community. Also, they specialize in knowing how and where their foods were produced and are more likely to sell food that is cheaper, fresher and better quality.
The best advice I can give you is to get out and explore what’s out there. See what is going on and try a few samples. You’ll soon have your favourite for fresh fish, grains, fruit and vegetables as well as lots of other delicious natural foods. Don’t be afraid to ask questions; you are entitled to know where it comes from and how it was grown, reared or produced.
